“Supporting Adults With Developmental Disabilities With A Place to Live, Work, and Play”

Social Occupational Academic Recreational

SOAR specializes in providing support services for adults with the most difficult behaviors. This small group program assists adults with developmental disabilities who would benefit from intensive staffing.

Our goal is to enable individuals with developmental disabilities to become active, accepted and welcomed participants in their communities.

The purpose of Supported Living Services is to provide social and community integration for clients served in the least restrictive way possible.

California Vocations started its Supported Living Services program in 1996 to accommodate developmentally disabled individuals who benefit from living in their own home as opposed to living in a congregated living environment.

Individuals and their families work with Far Northern Regional Center and the California Vocations management team to develop a service plan specific to their needs.

Since 1990 California Vocations has provided a day program for adults with developmental disabilities.

COVE is a community-based program that provides activities to suit each individual’s interests and abilities.

Day program attendees are picked up and taken to the COVE program where they get into groups structured around different activities. A typical day includes taking part in a work, recreational and social activity. We structure our client’s day based on the individual, their abilities and personal preference.

We have assisted our clients with learning job skills and maintaining employment since 1988.

People with developmental disabilities can be employed in the community alongside people without disabilities. Our employment program provides the support individuals with disabilities need to find a job that is compatible with their skills, abilities and interests. We ensure our clients’ success in the workplace by providing training and support every step of the way.

To ensure reliable and timely attendance, we provide transportation for our clients to get to and from work.

Treasure COVE Thrift Store was opened in 2012 with three goals in mind:

  1. provide vocational experience with paid work for the individuals we support
  2. create opportunities to increase interactions with the community
  3. increase diversification of funding for our organization

When you enter the Treasure COVE you will find a wide assortment of items available for sale: furniture, clothing, lawn and garden, tools, kitchenware, antiques and collectibles.

Here are the ways you can support the Treasure COVE:

  • Shop and purchase items and while you are there, engage in conversations with our employees to enrich your buying experience.
  • Donate or consign items for us to sell. All donations are tax deductible, you will receive a receipt for your donation. Your items that were sitting unused will now get a new life when sold.
  • Sign up to volunteer. We can always use the help in sorting and merchandising our items for sale.

Thank you for your support! We hope you find your experience at the Treasure COVE positive and rewarding.
